Wine lovers,

It isn’t often that I have the self-discipline to “age” wines. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a large enough disposable income to buy copious amounts of any single wine. Perhaps it’s because I love drinking super young, giant California red wines in all of their youthful glory. Maybe it’s my child-like curiosity when I’m around wine, and I just can’t help myself. On a rare occasion, I forget about a bottle, or it somehow escapes my path of destruction, I do love a nice aged Central Coast Red wine. I’ve always felt our wines hit their stride between 3-6 years of age. So with all that said, I’d like to open up my personal cellar to our members for this Holiday season. The wines we craft at Levo are built to be delicious young, but also to reward those who have the fortitude to age a few bottles.

As we near the holidays we wanted to do something special for our members. Recently, Kate and I dug through some of our older library wines and realized our 2013 vintage is coming into an absolutely delicious drinking window. The tannins have started to melt away, and the aromatics have not only blossomed but began to develop some secondary notes and complexities. Maybe some of you have heard of these classic beauties, and I’m sure a good portion of you have been with us since these wines were released. Here is the moment we’ve all been waiting for… “2013 Re-Release.”

There are currently a scanty five cases of each of these elixirs left in existence (except I’m keeping a couple of cases for myself). Which means we will have a whopping sixty, four-pack boxes available for this holiday season. Each box will include one bottle of each of our 2013 releases. These wines are ready to rock now but will also cellar another 1-3 years if you have the self-discipline equal to that of a Buddhist monk, or misplace things as frequently as I do.

Seeing as we have such a microscopic quantity, we can only accommodate one box per membership, and when they’re gone, they’re gone… for good. Each vintage has its own unique identity and characteristics that cannot be replicated. Like a double-edged sword, it is what makes every wine so unique, but also so fragile and fleeting: once a wine is gone there is no reproducing that expression again. 2013 was a very special vintage, and I’m excited to offer these library selections to you.

We wish you a very happy holiday season,
